Popular stand-up comedian, Bright Okpocha, professionally known as, Basketmouth, has addressed those who believe his separation from his wife, was only a joke.
Earlier in December 2022, after 12 years of marriage, the comedian and his wife, Elsie, announced their separation in a statement posted on social media.
Although, many first believed the announcement to be a marketing strategy for the comedian.
In a recent interview, the father of four maintained that he is separated from his wife at the moment, but refused to divulge more details about the separation.
In Basketmouth’s words;
“I am separated right now. People thought it was a joke but it was not. People said is that a way of promoting a show and I’m like you definitely do not know my design.”
“I do not bring my private matter on a public space. But it was something I needed to do for reasons best known to me. And yes. We were cool. Everything is fine. We completed 12 years,” he added.
